The problem is that bathroom and bedroom doorknobs contain a push button, turn switch, or toggle switch to lock the door. Toddlers can easily reach these locking mechanisms and accidentally lock the door. At this point, the toddler is locked in alone not knowing how to unlock the door.
In a stressful situation, it could possibly take parents over an hour to figure out how to unlock a bathroom or bedroom door. Within this time frame, a potential disaster could be harmful and/or fatal, especially if a toddler is locked in a bathroom.
